RONALDO MAKES CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HISTORY WITH DORTMUND GOAL

The Portugal star has netted a total of nine in this opening phase, including at least one strike in every game Madrid have played
Cristiano Ronaldo has broken new ground in Champions League history after scoring against hapless Borussia Dortmund in Wednesday's group clash.
Peter Bosz's men have been in pitiful form throughout their Group H campaign, and are already out of the running for a knockout spot.

And their woes were compounded early on at the Bernabeu when Ronaldo hit home shortly after Borja Mayoral opened the scoring to make it 2-0 to the hosts.

That goal meant that Ronaldo has scored in every single group game of the 2017-18 campaign, with a total of nine strikes so far.

No other players had managed that feat previously since the Champions League adopted its group phase in 1992-3, marking yet another record for the Portugal star. It was the 32-year-old's 114th Champions League goal, extending his record as the competition's all-time highest scoring player.

Manchester Derby: ‘Guardiola Playing Mind Games With Me’- Jose Mourinho Says

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has accused his Manchester City counterpart, Pep Guardiola, of playing mind games ahead of this weekend’s Derby after he claimed David Silva is a doubt.

Silva was left behind as City flew out to Ukraine ahead of their Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.

Guardiola insisted at his news conference on Tuesday, that the midfielder’s injury is serious enough to make him a doubt for the top-of-the-table clash at Old Trafford on Sunday.

But Mourinho insists he doesn’t believe it.

It comes just four days after Arsene Wenger picked Alexandre Lacazette in the Arsenal team to play United at the Emirates on Saturday, having previously ruled the France striker out.

Asked whether any of his injured players might be available to face City, Mourinho said: “You want the truth or what do you want? You want the truth.

“The truth is Eric Bailly no chance for the weekend, Phil Jones a chance, [Marouane] Fellaini a chance, Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] a big chance and [Nemanja] Matic is injured but will play for sure. [Michael] Carrick no chance.

“I’m telling the truth, he’s injured but will play for sure. No stories of Lacazette or David Silva. All the truth.”

Super Eagles’ 2018 World Cup Squad Not Complete Yet’- Coach Gernot Rohr Says

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has insisted that his squad for the 2018 World Cup is not complete yet.

Rohr was reacting to statements credited to the team’s chief scout, Victor Agali, who claimed the coach already knows the players he will be taking to Russia next year.

Agali stated that the German is not really searching for new players, as he plans to build and prosecute the 2018 World Cup with the players presently in the team.

But Rohr, in an interview with OwnGoalNigeria, made it clear that the door is still open and indicated Wolfsburg striker, Victor Osimhen, is still in his plans.

“We have friendly games lined up next year to try some new players in our team, and also give opportunity to some players who are with us but are yet to be tested.

“More players will come in. The likes of Victor Osimhen, young players, quick players. The door is still open. The list is not done yet. We have the possibility to get 30 players.”

How I Accidentally Discovered I’m An Adopted Child” – Actress Joke Silva Reveals

At the recent Annual Conference of Heritage Adoption Support and Advocacy Group (HASAAG) in Lagos, actress Joke Silva shocked many when she revealed that she was not a natural child of late lawyer, Chief E.A Silva who was the then Babajiro of Lagos and his late wife, Dr Abimbola Silva, reputed to be Nigeria’s first female medical doctor.

Speaking at the event, the actress revealed that her family also kept the fact that she was adopted a secret from her, until she accidentally discovered that fact: “But I got to know years later when I wanted to travel and was looking for my passport where my mum kept it.

Since she was not around, I opened the box in her absence and I saw my adoption papers. I never discussed it with my mum because I felt it was something that would hurt her, that was why, it was kept secret from me.”

Before her discovery however, an older cousin had tried to let her know the fact that she was not a natural child of the Silvas’.
She said:

“I remembered going out with my cousin and we met a big cousin.

She introduced me as ‘my cousin’s daughter and this is Dr Silva’s daughter.’ Then, the older cousin was like, ‘Dr. Silva ke? Se Doctor Silva bimo ni? (meaning does Dr. Silva have a child?) .

I was so confused and when I got home I told my mum, ‘I met this lady that says you never had a child.’ My mum froze and she said, ‘don’t mind them, they are used to rubbish talk.’

But I had incredible memories of my amazing legal parents for allowing me to do my A Level in England and going to one of the best schools in Bournemouth.”

According to the reports by kemiashefonlovehaven, the 56-year-old actress said before her adoption, she lived in a foster home of the Red Cross in Yaba, Lagos.

Clattenburg: Mourinho Is Why I Left England

Referee Mark Clattenburg has revealed that he decided to leave the Premier League after a tirade by José Mourinho.

Clattenburg stated in February he was leaving England for the position of head of referee of the Saudi Arabia Football Federation.

The 42-year-old veteran referee, officiated his first game in 2004 and says the match between Stoke and United in January convinced him to leave.

“I was refereeing the game when Wayne Rooney broke Bobby Charlton’s record and Mourinho came into my dressing room and he was unhappy about a handball penalty that I didn’t give,” Clattenburg told the Men in Blazers podcast.

“I’d walked off that pitch at Stoke, which was always the coldest stadium, it was always wet and miserable, and refereeing Man United was never an easy match.

“To come off that match it felt immense that I’d actually had a good performance, and for him to come into my dressing room and criticise my performance for a handball that I’d seen, that had clearly come off his chest, I knew that I was right but he’d put a seed of doubt into my mind.

“I drove home 250 miles thinking I’d made a big error, my wife knew my attitude had changed, and I thought to myself, ‘Do I really want to be a part of this anymore? Do I really want to referee?’

“And I went soul-searching, I wasn’t enjoying it as much as I used to and I had to get out.”
