Read his full piece below….

‘They have insulted me and my person. They have called me names, from gay to a spoilt brat, even mummy’s boy. They say my own is too much. They don’t wanna give me a chance because of my background. That I am privileged and that is why they hate on and try to block me. You see, the insults n negative vibes thrown at me don’t bother me, I have dealt with it since elementary school. What bothers me though, is that the people that are supposed to have your back are the ones that begin these stories n lies and that shit HURTS’.

‘I know I have made a lot of mistakes, and I accept full responsibility and honestly, I am working on myself and learning everyday. I apologize for any of my actions that may have offended anyone directly or indirectly because if you really know me, you will know that I am just a HAPPY CHILD, nothing else. But I won’t apologize for my background or whatever yeye privileges people think I have because This Life is hard for US ALL, NO exception. Shit ain’t always rosey but we still thank God for his grace n mercy over our lives. In other words, I just wanna say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone supporting me and my music right now (cos that’s just all I wanna do, really. I’m not here to fight or drag anything with anyone) From the tv stations to the radio stations, the Dj’s, friends, fans, and people sef! I really appreciate and love you all’.

Singer ‘Skiibi’ Reveals When He Will Dump Five Star Music

Five Star Music fledgling artiste, Skiibi, has affirmed that he plans to fly his management’s nest when he grows to a stage where he can handle himself.

His comments come soon after Five Star Music lost one of its biggest talents in Harrysong who has since moved on to start his own label, Alterplate.

According to Skiibi, although he is more than happy to remain with Five Star Music on the interim, it is only natural that he would abandon the label when he becomes big enough to fend for himself.

“See for now I’m ok with Five Star meehn, let’s keep pushing. We dey together, Five Star, love, 100%. As far as everybody is good that’s the most important, once you’re good I don’t see any reason for moving from one label to the other. Only if I want to, when I get to that level I push. It’s nothing, twenty children can’t play together forever, you understand what I’m saying so when it gets to that point that I feel that I’m ready, I’ll call my oga and tell him I’m ready to move on,” He told Planet TV.

The singer became a known entity in the industry in August 2015 when he faked his own death just to promote a single. Unfortunately, the extreme pr stunt failed horribly as he was roundly scorned for his efforts. Worse still, the song for which he played dead didn’t do well and the singer has remained stuck as an upcoming ever since.

Popular rapper, Falz the Bahd Guy also threw Skiibi an obvious diss in his hit single, ‘Soft Work’ with the line “Even real talent still need promo, if you fake your own death, you still fit no blow”

Tennis Star Serena Williams Calls For Equal Pay For Black Women

Serena Williams has demanded for equal pay for black women, highlighting that black women earn 17% less than their white female counterparts.

Williams said that for every dollar earned by men in the United States, black women earn just 63 cents.

The 23-times grand slam winner stated that black women had to work eight months longer to earn the same as their male counterparts do in one year.

She compared the oppression of black women in their work places with her experiences.

“I’ve been disrespected by my male colleagues and in the most painful times.

“I’ve been the subject of racist remarks on and off the tennis court.

“Luckily I am blessed with an inner drive and a support system of family and friends that encourage me to move forward. But these injustices still hurt.

“July 31 is Black Women’s Equal Pay Day. Black women are the cornerstone of our communities, they are phenomenal, and they deserve equal pay.” Williams worte in an essay on Fortune Magazine.

Williams noted that if she wasn’t lucky enough to break through as world tennis player she would be like the other 24 million black women facing wage disparities in the US.

“The cycles of poverty, discrimination and sexism are much, much harder to break than the record for Grand Slam titles.

“For every black woman that rises through the ranks to a position of power, there are too many others who are still struggling.

“We deserve equal pay for our mothers, our wives, our daughters, our nieces, friends, and colleagues – but mostly for ourselves.

“Black women: be fearless. Speak out for equal pay. Every time you do, you’re making it a little easier for a woman behind you. Let’s get back those 37 cents,” Serena added.

English Football League To Change Penalty Format For 2017/2018 Season

The English Football League (EFL) will introduce the new ABBA format for penalty shoot-outs in its competitions during the 2017/2018 season.

UEFA is already using the system, which is based on the format used in tennis tie-breaks, with the team taking the first kick in each pair of kicks alternating, so AB BA AB and so on instead of AB AB etc.

The EFL’s trial of the format will apply to this season’s League Cup, EFL Trophy and the playoffs.

“We welcome innovation at the EFL and I am pleased to see that the EFL is able to play its part in an important development for football.

“IFAB have identified a theory that the current arrangements for penalty kicks potentially provide an unfair advantage to the team taking the first kick so we are keen to see if the new system has an impact on one of the most discussed issues in football.

“We all want football matches to be decided in a fair and consistent manner and I am sure the new system will add an interesting dynamic to the conclusion of matches in our competitions if required,” EFL chief executive, Shaun Harvey, said in a statement.
