What I Told Neymar Before He Decided To Leave Barcelona’- Ronaldinho

Brazilian legend, Ronaldinho, has revealed that Neymar sought his advice before deciding to quit Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain.

“I have played for both clubs and of course Barcelona are the bigger team historically – but both clubs are now at a level where they are competing for the biggest trophies.

“I told him (Neymar) that he had to make the right decision for him. I did not want to advise him either way – I have just told him to follow his heart and hopefully that is what he has done,” Ronaldinho said.

Ronaldinho also feels Liverpool’s playmaker Philippe Countinho, could make the move to Barcelona.

“There are only very few players in the world who can replace Neymar – and I have said that I think Coutinho could play for them.

“He is at a level where he could come and fill the gap left by Neymar – but Liverpool will know his worth and after the fees of this summer it will cost Barcelona,” he added.

Neymar’s Shirt Number At PSG Finally Revealed

Neymar will take over the No. 10 shirt worn by Javier Pastore, when he signs for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The 25-year-old wears the same number for Brazil and will be confident of living up to the successes of some of his predecessors.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic wore 10 during his spell in the French capital, while Ronaldinho and Jay-Jay Okocha came before him.

The Brazilian has agreed to a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 club.

According to Sky Sports, PSG will pay him £90million (€100million/$119 million) per season in salary in bonuses.

However, that amount will not enter his account due to France’s 75% tax on its highest earners.

Neymar’s will earn £26.7million (€29.8 million/$35 million) per season after taxes, plus other on-field bonuses and off-field marketing opportunities.

The deal will make him the most expensive transfer in soccer history and the highest-paid player ever.
